Strassburg Sock
The Strassburg sock is a comfortable night splint with adjustable straps that is used to stretch the plantar fascia and the calf. It holds the ankle and forefoot joints in a slight dorsiflexion position to prevent the plantar fascia from contracting during the night. Made of knit material, the sock fits over the calf and applies a force that holds the ankle up and the toes back which can eliminate any painful steps taken first thing in the morning. The Strassburg sock does not lock the ankle joint, therefore won’t cause any restrictions to normal foot movements.
